Sun's Deployment of i2 Solutions and the Positive Results
Sun chose i2 solutions as part of its best-of-breed supply chain management strategy. In the area of factory planning and work order automation, Sun has seen more than $1.5 million in cost savings, and has also been able to reduce inventory levels by more than $200 million this fiscal year.
Sun uses i2 solutions for customer collaboration, demand planning, supplier collaboration, automated work order scheduling, as well as direct fulfillment and merge-in-transit.
Using i2 solutions, Sun has also improved forecasting and data accuracy, reduced planning cycle time, as well as improved demand forecasting and collaboration.
Building on the successes to date, Sun envisions continual improvements to its supply chain as a key component of its business strategy.
